Jaguar Lightweight E-Type - The Autobiography of 4 WPD (Great Cars)

The Jaguar car 4 WPD, managed by John Coombs with factory support and driven by top racing drivers, participated in the E-type's first motor race and later became the prototype for the all-aluminium Lightweight E-type.
Its racing history continued post-Coombs, with notable performances by Brian Redman in 1965 and success at the Goodwood Revival, where it won the TT Celebration race twice. The car has also been raced by prominent drivers like Dario Franchitti and Emanuele Pirro.

In this book, expert Philip Porter provides a detailed account of the E-type's racing life, using extensive sources, including factory documents. The book covers the car's race performances as well as its development challenges.
It is illustrated with period photographs of each competition appearance, along with modern images of the car today. This comprehensive work is the complete record of a significant racing car and the first volume in the 'Great Cars' series.
