Baureihen 41, 43, 44 und 45 - Güterzug-Dampflokomotiven mit Schlepptender der DRG, DB und DR

The final model range of the Deutsche Reichsbahn from 1925 provided for a locomotive of the type 1'Eh3, i.e. a three-cylinder locomotive, for heavy freight train service on main lines, especially in the low mountain ranges.
In 1926, ten units of the series 44 were put into service and a year later, for comparison purposes, ten twin locomotives of the series 43 (type 1'Eh2). The three-cylinder version was convincing in the high power range and was therefore purchased in large numbers from 1937.

The 90 km/h series 41 (type 1'D1'h2), which was put into service for express freight traffic from 1937, was also very suitable for pulling passenger trains and was thus almost a universal locomotive. The considerably more powerful series 45 (type 1'E1'h3) followed shortly afterwards, but only 28 examples were produced.

This anthology, created from the popular special editions of the trade magazine "Eisenbahn-Journal", documents the technology and use of the four series in competent texts and with numerous historical color and black-and-white images.

Die Dampflokomotiven der Baureihen 50 bis 53 der DRG, DRB, DB un DR

After the first volume of this book series had covered almost half of the entire range of series - at least in purely numerical terms - this second volume only presents a fraction of this range.
The reason for this is the enormous number of units in which the series 50 and 52 locomotives covered in this volume were built. In order to be able to present the individual locomotives in the desired detail, a corresponding amount of space had to be provided for these series, so that the treatment of the series 54 was no longer possible due to space constraints.

Die Dampflokomotiven der Baureihen 54 bis 59 der DRG, DRB, DB und DR

This third volume of the book series "Lokomotiven Deutscher Eisenbahnen - Verzeichnis aller deutschen Triebfahrzeuge" is dedicated to the series 54 to 59. Apart from the old C-couplers grouped together in the series 53, all of the freight train tender locomotives of the state railways were included in these.
During the Second World War, the freight train locomotives of the annexed neighboring states taken over by the Reichsbahn as well as some export locomotives that were no longer delivered to the destination railways were added.
In addition to the vehicle lists, which show the life cycle of each machine, there is a short explanation of the respective series with the most important technical data as well as photos showing the vehicles in portrait.

Included are all vehicles included in the Reichsbahn inventory from takeovers, e.g. from private railways (Hafenbahn Bremen, Saargebiet, Lübeck-Büchener-Eisenbahn, Braunschweigische Landes-Eisenbahn, Lokalbahn Aktien-Gesellschaft and Lausitzer Eisenbahn AG, Mecklenburgische Friedrich-Wilhelm-Eisenbahn, Prignitzer Eisenbahn, Wittenberge-Perleberger Eisenbahn, Eutin-Lübecker Eisenbahn, Kreis Oldenburger Eisenbahn, Schipkau-Finsterwalder Eisenbahn) or from other state railways (Austria, Czechoslovakia, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Belgium, Yugoslavia, Luxembourg) or other origins.

Die Baureihe 57.10-35 (Band 1) - Entstehung, Technik, Einsätze bis 1945

At the beginning of the 20th century, the Prussian State Railways developed a five-coupler with a low average axle load (15.3 t) for freight transport on main lines with light superstructures and branch lines.
The series, initially known as the G 10 and from 1925 as the 57.10-35, was built between 1910 and 1924 by nine locomotive manufacturers in over 2, 500 units.
In both world wars, these machines played an important role in military transport due to their low axle load, robust construction and high performance.

This EK series book, originally planned as a revised new edition, is now presented as two volumes due to unexpected findings.
The first volume describes the history of the locomotive's development and technology, including a complete list of the vehicles built in Germany.
The history of its use by state railways and the German Reichsbahn up to the end of the Second World War and its use in the wars are examined in detail, as are the machines that were exported abroad after 1918 as a result of armistice contributions.

Die Baureihe 57.10-35 (Band 2) - Einsätze nach 1945 bei DB, DR und Ausland

This second volume deals with the history of the successful Prussian freight locomotives of the 57.10-35 series after the Second World War.
600 locomotives remained in the later Bundesbahn areas, while 134 examples were recorded at the Deutsche Reichsbahn in the Soviet occupation zone and the later GDR. Around 100 more machines remained in use with the ÖBB until 1968.

The Bundesbahn retired the G 10 from service in 1970, while the 57.10-35 was only in service with the DR for two years longer.
This comprehensive presentation also includes operations abroad after the Second World War, including in Turkey, Romania and Poland.

Lokporträt preußische G 12 - Die Baureihen 58.2-3, 58.4, 58.5, 58.10-21

At the beginning of 1916, on the initiative of the Minister for Public Works, all German railway administrations agreed to purchase a standard freight train locomotive. From 1917 onwards, a total of 1, 479 machines were manufactured by the original company Henschel & Sohn and later by almost all well-known German locomotive factories. These were put into service by the state railways of Prussia, Baden, Saxony, Württemberg and the Reichseisenbahnen.

This volume in the "Eisenbahn-Bildarchiv" series accompanies these powerful locomotives through all eras, with particular attention being paid to their use by the DR after 1945.
