Mercedes-Benz 319 - Der legendäre Mercedes-Transporter 1956-1967
The L 319 was the first Mercedes van of the post-war period and formed the basis for the company's minibuses. The robust construction with leaf-sprung rigid axles was not for gourmets, but was perfectly suited to the tough demands of use in trade and industry.
In 1963, the company renamed its trucks and vans. Afterwards the models made an international career: first built in Sindelfingen and later in Düsseldorf. Parts kits also traveled for assembly to the Spanish plant in Vitoria and to Argentina.
