Introduced in 1977 to replace the much-loved Giulia, the "Nuova Giulietta" stole the hearts of many, yet no title had ever been fully dedicated to this successful Alfa model. Automotive Designer and historian Matteo Licata first tackled the issue in 2018, and now this improved and expanded second edition will certainly satisfy even the most ardent "Alfisti": the book is based on a rigorous research through period documents and first-hand accounts of former Alfa Romeo employees.

Having left motor racing in the early 1950s - at least officially - Alfa Romeo returned to the sport once again at the start of the following decade due to the commitment and enthusiasm of Autodelta. This Alfa offshoot distinguished itself by preparing and racing about 30 of the manufacturer's different cars that really did make history. Among them, the Giulia TZ holds a place at the head of the crowd.
It had a 1.5-litre, 113 hp engine from the Giulia SS, front and rear suspension of modern conception, disc brakes and an especially bold body shaped by Zagato on a modern tubular chassis. Those were the strong points of this car, which scored results of absolute prestige in its brief career at Sebring, in the Targa Florio, the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Tour de France.
Vito Witting da Prato, already the author of a meticulously written book on the Alfa Romeo SZ, covers the winning, human, technical and sporting factors of this unforgettable car in a monumental work. A book which, to the precise text and painstaking historical reconstruction, has been added illustrations of previously unpublished pictures and technical designs by Autodelta, plus all the results of the "Tubular Zagato" from 1963 to 1968.

The book offers Alfa Romeo enthusiasts a complete historical picture of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint, with production dates, chassis numbers of the various versions and a useful guide to the restoration of the body and mechanics of examples still in existence.
More than 50 years since it first appeared at the 1956 Turin Motor Show, the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider is still the symbol of the Italian school open two-seater cars. One of timeless fascination to which Carrozzeria Pinin Farina gave the class and elegance that distinguishes it from all others.
This new updated edition of the noted book by Gaetano De Rosa covers the technical and stylistic evolution of the various bodies and is accompanied by a special section devoted to motor sport. The publication has been enlarged to contain a useful and detailed restoration guide too. A book for all the fortunate owners who want to take this evergreen car back to its original splendour.
