Many people still remember the days of the all-terrain DKW Munga in the late 1950s and 1960s. In the mid-1950s, young men were drafted into the newly founded German army. In many units, they saw the DKW Munga as an emergency vehicle. Whole generations of soldiers were trained with it.
Convinced by the qualities of the DKW Munga, other authorities also resorted to this practical vehicle. The DKW Munga was used in disaster control, by the fire service and in forestry administration.

In Brazil, the DKW Munga was built under license under the name Candango by the Vemag company. The book also devotes an illustrated chapter to this Auto Union off-road vehicle.
