MAN - Frontlenker mit F7/F8 Kabine 1967-1990

The Maschinenfabrik Augsburg-Nürnberg AG (M.A.N.), with roots dating back to 1840, gained global recognition for its reliable short-nose and "chubby-cheek" trucks. In 1967, M.A.N. introduced the heavy front-steer generation with the modern F7 cab, renowned for its robust design.
This book details the development of two-, three-, and four-axle models, collaborations with Saviem and Daimler-Benz, MAN's resonance charging system, and the transition from the brand's M combustion process.
It also covers medium-duty front-steer trucks with modified cabs, heavy-duty tractors, and dump trucks equipped with F7/F8 cabs, which remained modern even at the end of production. Depending on the model, these vehicles were fitted with five-, six-, eight-, or ten-cylinder diesel engines.
A pivotal moment was the 1971 acquisition of Büssing, whose underfloor types were integrated into MAN's lineup, along with the development of new underfloor trucks for long-haul customers.
