DAF 65 - 75 - 85 - CF - New Medium Line: stoere werkpaarden met karakter

This book describes the development of the DAF 75 and 85, presented at the IAA in May 1992 and immediately notable in the medium-duty sector. These models featured the in-house developed F 230 cab and were designed for demanding, versatile use.
Deliveries of the two-axle versions of the New Medium Line began in October 1992, followed by the DAF 65 in January 1993. With various series, engines, axles, configurations and cabs, DAF Trucks N.V. established a solid base for further growth.

In 1998 the updated generation appeared at the BedrijfsautoRAI under the name CF (Compact Forte). Together with the 95XF introduced in 1997, these trucks led to a clear increase in market share.

A wide range of photographs presents all variants, including fire and municipal vehicles, and provides a complete view of the many applications of the New Medium Line.

In 1957, Van Doorne's Automobielfabriek DAF N.V. introduced the heavy 2000 DO series. These trucks used a widened version of an existing medium-duty cab.
In 1962, the 2600 series followed, featuring a cab designed specifically for heavy and international transport.
In 1973, the F 2800 series replaced the 2600. It used a widened version of the F 218 tilt cab from the medium-duty range.
In 1987, DAF introduced a second cab developed entirely for heavy and international use. The F 249 cab was fitted to the F 95 series and remained in production for more than 30 years.
In 2021, DAF launched a completely new modular cab, available in several versions for a new generation of trucks: the medium-duty XD and the heavy XF, XG and XG+. The book provides a clear and rich overview of all these DAF models.

The book offers short, clear descriptions of the various heavy trucks, technical details and many photographs. For each type or series, a selection of images shows the versions that were available.

The monograph presents photos of all versions for each series or type described. It also includes extensive background information and special images, such as prototypes, design sketches, design studies and projects that never reached production. The strong focus on development clearly shows how a truck series is designed and improved.
