A book dedicated to a true milestone in the history of the Innocenti scooter: "Scooterlinea 1962", a thoroughly revised Lambretta that was a protagonist on the worldwide scooter scene of the Sixties. Technically known as the "Series III", the new Lambretta was launched late in 1961, initially with the two 125 and 150 cc displacements, later joined by the 175 TV in the spring of 1962.

The third title in the series dedicated to the most important Lambrettas (which include the 'Lambretta Lui' and the 'Lambretta TV/LI Series I'), celebrates a model characterised by sleek and aggressive bodywork and equipped with a front disc brake and an extremely high level of fittings and finish.

Written by Vittorio Tessera, the leading Lambretta historian, the book reviews the complete industrial, technical and social history of the Scooterlinea, drawing on hundreds of previously unpublished contemporary photos in black and white and colour.

Lambretta TV / LI: Prima Series - Serie I : History, models and documentation / Storia, modelli e documenti

Dopo la monografia sul 'Lui', ecco un altro titolo monotematico dedicato ad un'altra Lambretta iconica, la TV-LI prima serie. Nella storia della Lambretta, le TV e LI prima serie sono stati i capostipiti di un nuovo concetto costruttivo che aveva del tutto stravolto il tradizionale modello a trasmissione cardanica, venduto dal 1947 al 1958 in centinaia di migliaia di esemplari.

Moltissime sono le innovazioni che caratterizzarono questa nuova serie di modelli: il motore adottava una trasmissione a catena duplex con cambio a 4 marce, il gruppo termico era spostato in posizione orizzontale mentre per la telaistica le maggiori novità riguardavano le ruote maggiorate a 10 pollici e le dimensioni della carrozzeria.

Non meno importanti le migliorie alla sospensione posteriore, che perdeva la famosa barra di torsione per una più efficiente ammortizzatore a molla di tipo motociclistico. Per la prima volta una Lambretta raggiungeva la cilindrata massima di 170 cc e poteva offrire prestazioni di alto livello, superando i 100 km/h. Questo modello che se la giocava alla pari con la Vespa 150 GS è certamente oggi uno dei più ambiti dai collezionisti. Anche le più turistiche LI 125 e 150 sono state un grande successo e ancora oggi circolano per le strade del mondo migliaia di questi eccezionali scooter Innocenti, apprezzati per le loro incredibili doti di robustezza e stabilità di guida.

The evolution of the Lambretta 200: TV 200, SX 200, GP 200

In the early 1960s Innocenti introduced the series three Slimstyle Lambretta with its stunning looks, and innovative engineering making it a world leader.
The TV 175 was seen as the pinnacle of that design and in no way could it be bettered, but some thought different. The motorway age had dawned meaning vehicles with greater power and speed were now in vogue but could this include the Lambretta.
Despite a reluctance to join the race Innocenti finally gave in when in 1963 they produced the TV 200 the most powerful Lambretta to date.

Throughout the rest of the decade, the 200 cc Lambretta continued to evolve through the SX and GP models creating an ever-lasting legacy.
For the first time all three models the TV 200, SX 200, and GP 200 are thoroughly examined and compared against each other.

The history of the Lambretta TV 175 and TV/GT 200

The Lambretta TV 175 and TV 200 series three were seen as the natural evolution of the Slimstyle series which had been introduced in late 1961. The TV 175 was regarded as the pinnacle of Lambretta engineering and design by Innocenti, that was challenged by Lambretta Concessionaires and in particular, Peter Agg who felt it could be taken further.
This eventually led to the creation of the TV 200 and in doing so changed Lambretta production forever.
