Honda CB 750 Four

Original Honda CB750 - The Restorer's Guide to K & F Series 750 SOHC Models, 1968-1978

By 1968, Japanese motorcycle manufacturers had transformed the motorcycling world in Europe and the USA with well-engineered models. However, their success largely came from refining traditional motorcycle designs established by Italian and British makers.
The Honda CB750 changed this completely. It was not just an improved version of an old design but an entirely new concept. With its powerful four-cylinder engine, comparable to that of a small car, disc brakes, and a top speed of 120-130 mph, the CB750 was revolutionary. Its impressive size, weight, and exceptional reliability, similar to that of a car, set new standards in motorcycling.
The author, who grew up riding British bikes, first experienced the CB750 35 years ago. That ride changed his perspective on motorcycling. Using his experience as both an owner and a professional restorer, he provides a detailed account of the many versions of this iconic model produced between 1968 and 1978.
This book features an authoritative text paired with over 200 color photographs, specially commissioned to showcase every detail that made Honda's sohc CB750 a groundbreaking motorcycle of its time.

Honda CB750 Four

In the 1960s, Japanese motorcycle manufacturers began gaining market share in Europe and the United States with innovative designs and modern technology.
In 1968, Honda introduced the CB750, a revolutionary four-cylinder motorcycle featuring an electric starter, five-speed gearbox, and front disc brake. It combined speed, convenience, reliability, and oiltightness - qualities rarely found together at the time. This marked the arrival of the first 'superbike.'
In this book, Rod Ker explores the history of the Honda CB750 and its development throughout the 1970s. He also examines its revival as a classic model, its current iconic status, and offers buying advice for modern enthusiasts.

Génération Honda - La révolution CB 750

Unveiled in Tokyo at the end of 1968, the Honda CB 750 Four was released in the USA in June 1969 and arrived in France at the end of August.
Fifty years ago, this first large-capacity motorcycle from Honda, featuring a four-cylinder engine and front disc brake, instantly made all other bikes seem outdated. The impact was so great that it was called the "motorcycle of the century."
The success was immediate: motorcyclists worldwide dreamed of owning this "4-Cylinder, " as it was quickly nicknamed. As the first modern large-displacement bike, the Honda Four transformed the motorcycle industry and set new standards. After 1969, nothing was the same.

Honda CB 750 Four - Vier Zylinder und zwei Räder

The Honda CB 750 Four, introduced in 1968, revolutionized the motorcycle world. The powerful four-cylinder engine was the first mass-produced superbike and was named "Motorcycle of the Century" in 1999. For ten years, the CB 750 was produced in large quantities with minimal changes.
This richly illustrated book tells the story of the Four, including technical data, model series, and its motorsport history, particularly the Bol d'Or. It also covers the tuning development, from Bimota to Egli to Rickman.
The CB 750 Four was not only a milestone in motorcycle history but also an icon in motorsport and tuning culture.
