DAF F 95 en 95 XF - New Truck Generation

In August 1987, DAF expanded its heavy-duty truck lineup with a new model: the DAF 95. A robust addition to the DAF fleet, the new 95 marked the beginning of a series initially referred to as the New Truck Generation. DAF took a comprehensive approach, introducing a diverse range of trucks with the new F 249 cabin under the name "Concept 95." In 1988, the 95 series earned DAF the prestigious Truck of the Year title. Over 67,000 chassis of the DAF 95 were produced.

At the Brussels Motor Show in 1997, the 95XF was introduced as the successor to the DAF 95. The "XF" designation stood for eXtra Forte, representing more than just an update to the 95 series. Approximately 80% of the truck underwent a complete redesign. A decade after winning its first Truck of the Year title, DAF received the honor again in 1998 for the 95XF, with almost 79,000 chassis produced.

This book narrates the development of the 95 and 95XF series, which marked a significant success for DAF. It showcases the various configurations within both ranges. As of the book's writing in 2020, the F 249 cabin, in a substantially modified form, continues to be in production.

DAF 65 - 75 - 85 - CF - New Medium Line: stoere werkpaarden met karakter

At the I.A.A. in May 1992, DAF unveiled the DAF 75 and 85 (New Medium Line), surprising the trucking world. These new trucks for the demanding mid-range segment were characterized by the splendid F 230 cabin, developed entirely in-house by DAF. The introduction of the two-axle versions of the New Medium Line (NML) began in October 1992, followed by the launch of the DAF 65 in January 1993.
With various series, engines, axles, axle configurations, and beautiful cabins, DAF Trucks N.V. laid a solid foundation for growth and success.

In 1998, at the BedrijfsautoRAI, DAF unveiled the improved version of the New Medium Line, referred to as CF (Compact Forte). These new trucks were warmly received and, together with the 95XF introduced in 1997, contributed to significant growth.

The photo selection in this book has been carefully curated, showcasing each type in various configurations, including fire trucks and cleaning vehicles, for which the NML was specifically developed. The book also provides a comprehensive overview of the various transport applications of the NML.

En 1957, Van Doorne's Automobielfabriek DAF N.V. presentó la serie pesada 2000 DO. Estos camiones utilizaban una versión ensanchada de una cabina existente de la gama media.
En 1962 siguió la serie 2600, con una cabina diseñada específicamente para el transporte pesado e internacional.
En 1973, la serie F 2800 sustituyó a la 2600. Incorporó una versión ensanchada de la cabina basculante F 218 de los camiones de tonelaje medio.
En 1987, DAF introdujo una segunda cabina desarrollada por completo para el transporte pesado e internacional. La cabina F 249 se montó en la serie F 95 y permaneció en producción durante más de 30 años.
En 2021, DAF lanzó una cabina modular totalmente nueva, disponible en varias versiones para una nueva generación de camiones: el XD de tonelaje medio y los pesados XF, XG y XG+. El libro ofrece una visión clara y completa de todos estos modelos DAF.

El libro contiene descripciones breves y claras de los distintos camiones pesados, detalles técnicos y numerosas fotografías. Para cada tipo o serie se ha seleccionado una muestra de las versiones disponibles.

La monografía presenta, para cada serie o tipo descrito, fotos de todas las versiones. También incluye amplia información de fondo e imágenes especiales, como prototipos, bocetos, estudios de diseño y proyectos que no llegaron a la producción. El fuerte énfasis en el desarrollo permite comprender bien cómo se diseña y mejora una serie de camiones.
