From 1940 to 1976, Kässbohrer in Ulm, Germany, manufactured mobile cranes. Initially, these cranes were built on two- and three-axle truck chassis. Later, lattice boom mobile cranes were mounted on chassis from various manufacturers, including saddle tractor versions with two- and three-axle tractors.

In 1969, Kässbohrer introduced its first telescopic crane, the TAK 120, with a 20-ton lifting capacity, built on a three-axle FAUN chassis. By the end of production, the cranes had evolved to six axles and a lifting capacity of 80 tons. Known for their robustness and reliability, Kässbohrer mobile cranes gained popularity among customers both domestically and internationally.
