Over the past 20 years, the French Navy has evolved more than it has since the end of the Second World War. It has, in fact, moved from the era of diesel-powered submarines, destroyers, cruisers, battleships and aircraft carriers with firepower of a range of 20 to 40 km, to that of ultra-light, stealthy boats, armed with missiles that can reach a target several hundred kilometers away and powered by turboprops or atomic engines.
Jean-Marie Chourgnoz is THE photographer-reporter who has been making the Navy shine in the eyes of the general public for over 20 years, in all the skies of the world.
Being a reporter-photographer means, above all, capturing the crews, the machines, the weapons, but also being the living memory of the French Navy, always at the forefront of new techniques.
