Livres sur les trains et locomotives fameuses, les trains à grande vitesse ainsi que l'infrastructure ferroviaire, comme gares, ponts et tunnel.

Rails Across Europe : Eastern and Southern Europe

The two volumes covering Rails Across Europe are divided into one covering the North and West of the continent, the other dealing with the South and East. The photos were taken by David Cable, well-regarded author of several photographic albums of trains throughout the world, supplemented by a few taken by friends.

The books show pictures of modern traction mainly from the 1980s up to the current era, showing the huge variety of classes - locomotives as well as multiple units - and the panoply of colour schemes that continue to grow. The photos were taken both at railway stations and in the countryside and give a wide range of locations.

The first volume covers Scandinavia, the Baltic states, Germany, Poland, the Benelux countries, the United Kingdom and Ireland.
This second volume deals with France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Switzerland, Austria and the majority of Central European and Balkan countries, which had been in the former Soviet Eastern Block.

The Second Age of Rail : A History of High-Speed Trains

Speed on steel wheels has fascinated engineers for nearly two centuries, and a string of stunning records in the last thirty years has pushed railway engineering towards new frontiers. Japan set the precedent with its legendary bullet trains in 1964; since then more than a dozen countries have joined the high-speed revolution.
Today, China is setting the pace as it crafts a nationwide network of super-railways, and Morocco and Saudi Arabia have joined the club of nations where trains travel at 300km/h or more.

The USA lags far behind, outpaced by Asia and Western Europe, where Eurostar links London to the international high-speed network - although a new-generation railway to northern England is still missing.
In this new and updated edition of "The Second Age of Rail", the full story of high-speed trains is retold in a journey across countries and continents.

When Trolleys Ruled the Earth - A Photographic History of Streetcars, Cable Cars, and Classic Trams

Celebrate the bygone era of trolleys with "When Trolleys Ruled the Earth," an illustrated book offering a detailed exploration of classic 20th-century antique trolleys. With over 90 captivating images, the book showcases the vibrant history of these colorful and functional vehicles that once dominated urban public transportation.
The book features high-quality, ultra-high-resolution scans from the CGR Restoration Workshop archives. Spanning the latter half of the 20th century, it presents pristine digitally restored scans of negatives from the first half of the century, portraying a diverse array of trolleys, streetcars, cable cars, and more.

Authoritatively introduced by World's Fair historian and writer, Mark Bussler, the book pays homage to the integral role trolleys played in American cities for decades. It delves into their sudden disappearance, with trolley lines vanishing and rails being paved over. Beyond celebrating their design, the book aims to preserve the legacy and historical significance of these mass transit pioneers.

Das goldene Zeitalter der Eisenbahn - Die Epoche der Luxuszüge 1850 bis 1960

Before cars and airplanes began their triumphant advance, the railway was the uncrowned queen of long-distance travel. This era began with the construction of the major long-distance routes in the second half of the 19th century and only ended with the start of the Second World War.
But even today, there are still luxurious passenger trains in many countries around the world, which have extended the golden age of the railway into the 21st century.
