Missiles européens au combat

Les missiles tactiques européens, qu'ils soient antichars, air-sol, antinavires ou sol-air, jouent depuis des décennies un rôle décisif dans les conflits contemporains partout dans le monde. Plus d'une quarantaine de systèmes de missiles différents ont ainsi été engagés dans plus d'une trentaine de crises ou de guerres depuis 1956.
Ce livre présente le récit détaillé, conflit après conflit, de ces engagements au combat, d'après les témoignages recueillis pendant plus de vingt-cinq ans auprès des opérateurs de ces différents systèmes de missiles.

L'iconographie comporte de nombreuses photos en action, mais aussi plus de soixante-dix cartes permettant de suivre le déroulement de chaque conflit et de situer avec précision les différentes actions décrites. Le peintre Daniel Bechennec a réalisé plus desoixante-dix tableaux pour célébrer le premier emploi au combat de chaque missile européen et quelques-unes de leurs plus grandes batailles.

When the first armored fighting vehicles were deployed by the Allies in World War I, a defensive weapon had to be found against this new threat. Because artillery was not really suitable for this task, the warring parties eventually developed a special weapon for this purpose, the so-called anti-tank gun.
