Traktoren: Die schönsten Modelle seit den 1920er Jahren
Since Hart-Parr first coined the term tractor in 1906, agricultural machinery has experienced enormous development. The boom began in the 1920s, when legendary companies such as Hanomag and Lanz followed the pioneer Fordson, who in 1917 shaped an entire generation of tractors like no other with his groundbreaking Fordson-F.
After the huge sales figures in the 1950s, the tractor market slowly became saturated at the beginning of the 1960s. Many of the smaller manufacturers had to give up or were bought up. Traditional brands such as Allgaier, Deutz, Eicher, Man, Hatz, Hanomag, Porsche, Güldner and Fahr are still known to many fans today, even though tractor production in these factories was discontinued long ago. Today, high-performance models such as those from Fendt or John Deere dominate the registration statistics.
Extensively illustrated, with informative text and detailed information on engine type, displacement, horsepower and construction time, this work is devoted to well-known and lesser-known models from eight decades of tractor history. Over 450 types from the areas of large and small tractors as well as articulated steering and all-wheel drive vehicles impressively document the variety of technology in the area of agricultural vehicles.
