A sports car par excellence, an automotive icon, the 911 is much more than just a car. Created over 50 years ago, in 1963, no car in the world can boast such longevity. Sportiness, excellence, design, the 911 accumulates superlatives and it is not for nothing that it is the best-selling sports car in the world (32 000 models sold in 2018 worldwide, over 820 000 units produced since 1963).

This book is a declaration of love from the owners of this legendary car. They are architects, actors, entrepreneurs, music producers, designers, racing drivers, mechanics, writers and doctors, all of whom have one thing in common: owning a Porsche 911.

This book will delight fans of the brand, thanks to the surprising anecdotes of these owners from all over the world, as well as car enthusiasts who will discover the 911 with new eyes. The book presents the most important models (road and competition) chronologically, from 1963 to the very latest model, with rare archive documents provided by the Porsche brand.

Herein light falls on sculpted metal and paint - shiny and less shiny.

From an "oily-rag" 356 to old 911s and new 911s, with a brief alighting upon other cars of the Porsche clan, this is an eclectic collection of enthusiasts "moments" captured across a British Porsche landscape.

Porsche 911 ST 2.5: Kamerawagen, Le Mans-Sieger, Porsche-Legende

Daytona, Sebring, Targa Florio, Nürburgring, Watkins Glen, Le Mans - these are just a few of the stops in the unparalleled success story of the Porsche 911 ST 2.5 with chassis number 911 230 0538, which drivers Jürgen Barth and Michael Keyser drove to victory in the GT class of the Sports Car World Championship in 1972.
The light yellow Porsche racing car with the two arrow-shaped black stripes on the hood was later thought to be lost for decades. It is only thanks to the tireless detective work of two Swiss automobile enthusiasts that the famous 911 was rediscovered in San Francisco in May 2013.

Completely corroded and in a miserable condition, it came into the hands of the Porsche Classics factory specialists and was restored true to the original down to the smallest detail with love and passion. The extensive volume "Porsche 911 ST 2.5" traces the history of this unique restoration object for the first time - from its birth through its active period with numerous racing successes to its spectacular resurrection.

The biography of the bright yellow 911 ST is not only brought to life through original documents and private photos of its former drivers. The Porsche rarity was also on the track as a camera car at three races in 1972 and captured breathtaking images on video for "The Speed Merchants".
The ninety-minute documentary film is included with the book as an extra on DVD and offers exciting insights into racing in the early seventies. A must for racing car enthusiasts and fans of the rare ST 2.5!
