Der Panzerkampfwagen 35 (t)
De Panzerkampfwagen 35(t) werd ontwikkeld door de Tsjechische Skoda-fabriek. De Duitse Wehrmacht gebruikte buitgemaakte exemplaren bij de invasie van Polen, Frankrijk en de Sovjetunie. Later kregen Roemeense, Bulgaarse, Slowaakse en Hongaarse afdelingen deze tanks.
Dit standaardwerk behandelt ontwikkeling, fabricage en inzet van de Pz Kpfw 35 (t). Ook varianten, zoals de Panzerbefehlswagen 35 (t), Mörserzugmittel 35 (t) en de Roemeense TACAM R-2, worden niet vergeten. Nach der Besetzung der Tschechoslowakei im Jahr 1939 fielen den Deutschen mit der dortigen Rüstungsindustrie auch die Panzerkampfwagen 35(t) und 38(t) in die Hände. Weil diese den eigenen Modellen der Typen I und II deutlich überlegen waren, requirierte die Wehrmacht diese Panzer und setzte sie mit Erfolg ab dem Polenfeldzug ein. Erst das Auftauchen der überstarken sowjetischen T-34-Kampf-panzer führte in den Jahren 1941/42 zu ihrer Ausmusterung.

Germany's annexation of Czech provinces in 1938 gave it control of the large Czech armament industry, one of the jewels of which was the very modern LT 38 tank. The type was fully integrated into the Wehrmacht as the Panzer 38(t), becoming one of the few foreign designs to continue in production for the Wehrmacht. The tank battles in the Soviet Union during the summer of 1941 were the largest in World War II, exceeding even the more famous Prokhorovka encounter during the Kursk campaign. Indeed, they were the largest tank battles ever fought.
This book examines two evenly matched competitors in this conflict, the German Panzer 38(t) and the Soviet BT-7. Both were of similar size, armed with guns of comparable firepower, and had foreign roots - the Panzer 38(t) was a Czechoslovak design and the BT-7 was an evolution of the American Christie tank.
