Mercedes Actros - La gamme lourde Mercedes, des origines à Euro VI
This book is the first to present the entire range of Mercedes heavy trucks, ranges articulated since 1996 around the Actros. In 1996, Mercedes reinvented its high-end truck by launching the first Actros. Fifteen years later, the new Actros revealed in 2011 laid the foundations for heavy-duty technology for the next two decades. Starting with the flagship Actros, Mercedes has developed specialized versions for heavy regional missions with the Axor, then the Antos, or for construction sites with the Arocs.
An essential historical reminder summarises the prestigious ancestry and in particular looks back at the genesis of the Mercedes V engines used since 1969. Then the entire evolution of the Actros from the first prototypes to the Euro 6 ranges is described and analysed. The beautiful images, omnipresent and abundantly captioned, serve all aspects of the subject treated.

Mercedes-Benz LKW - Die legendären Langhauber 1945-1962
When Germany lay in ruins in 1945, every truck, no matter how roadworthy, was worth its weight in gold. The upturn in truck construction also enabled Mercedes-Benz to return to the world market: their bonneted trucks paved the way for the Swabians to become the largest truck manufacturer in the world.
Achim Gaier describes the types, technology, models, developments and backgrounds of the economic miracle hooded cars, the variety of which was as great as the hoods were long. After looking at protocols that had previously been lying dormant in the archives, a unique, excellently illustrated and carefully researched standard work was created that closes an important gap in Mercedes-Benz history.

Mercedes-Benz LKW - Die legendären Langhauber 1945-1962
From 1959, Mercedes-Benz launched trucks with a new design in which the engine was no longer located completely in front of the driver's cab, but was pushed a little way into it. This design, known as the "Kurzhauber" truck, was a great success worldwide: the heavy short-hood trucks were produced until the early 1980s, and the light and medium-sized trucks even until 1996.
After the legendary long-hood trucks from Mercedes-Benz, Achim Gaier now describes the unforgettable short-hood trucks. Among other things, he looks at the types and models of the economic miracle trucks, including their background, development and technology.
